Farewell from the 2025 festival
Dear festival supporters
Another Straddie festival year has passed! Thank you to our audiences, yet again, for being so open and willing to share all sorts of music with us – I really feel that together we got to the essence of it all. We dived into a rich weekend of musical experiences, with a bunch of musicians who were really in it for the full Straddie festival experience – wonderful attentive audiences, bird song, whales jumping, winter swims and walks, and kangaroos poking their noses into our rehearsals.
Thank you also to our loyal helpers and the Straddie community, who have kept this event going (and growing) now for 17 festivals!
Apart from the concerts and rehearsals, we had a great time meeting and working with some first-year Conservatorium students at the beginning of their chamber music journeys. They presented a concert for the Dunwich State School students which hopefully inspired many of those students to grab the nearest instrument and play too! Who knows who’ll be playing for you in the future?
We’re excited about our planning for next year and hope you’ll come along with us again in 2026.
With warmest wishes
Rachel

It’s over, and some of the musicians have already flown off to perform elsewhere. Book the dates for next year’s festival:
Friday 17 July to Sunday 19 July 2026

The Stradbroke Chamber Music Festival takes place on Quandamooka Country – the lands and waters of the Quandamooka people. They have been custodians of this country for over 25,000 years. We pay our respects to the Quandamooka people – and to their elders past, present and future – who hold the memories, the traditions, the culture and hopes attached to this country.
